About Mrs. PalmerI received my Bachelors of Science degree at MTSU in Public Relations and Psychology. After MTSU, I worked in advertising for the next 15 years as a Print Production/Traffic Manager in the Nashville area before returning to MTSU for my Masters of Education degree with a concentation in Library Science.
After receiving my Masters degree in December 2004, I worked at MTSU as an Information Research Technician in the Learning, Teaching and Innovative Technologies Center. I was in charge of the faculty development newsletter, listserv, web site, and coordination of seminars and events. I joined the Holloway Family in August 2007 as the Library Media Specialist, and I love it here. I am looking forward to a long and happy career at Holloway High School; it is my second home. I have been married to my husband, Tom Burton Palmer, for 29 years, and we have one son, Greyson Palmer, who graduated from high school in May, 2016. I love to spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy reading, going to church, making jewelry and glassworks, photography, hiking, kayaking, and anything outdoors. I believe all students deserve respect, and have the potential to learn the most complicated aspects of education with the right tools and instruction. Often times as an educator, I reflect on the different modes of instruction and learning styles, and use that information to integrate best teaching practices into student learning. Teaching involves learning and getting to know your students, and that is what makes it all worth while. The norm at Holloway is "we believe all students can learn at a high level." |
